The GO-TO for eating and takeout in my hood. We religiously eat the pumpkin curry, poached chicken and salad rolls. Occasionally tossing in a tasty macaroon: Jade gets my vote every time! View all feedback.
What Erin Anderson doesn't like about Jade Teahouse:
The food wasn't terrible, however, the beef noodle soup had little to no flavor. The salt and pepper squid was a bit chewy (didn't seem fresh). There was zero atmosphere to speak of. We had never been in before and weren't greeted very kindly and weren't offered any information on the process, we were just expected to know what we were doing, where water was, etc. We won't be back. This is by far one of the BEST restaurants in Portland/Sellwood.
4th time here in last 5yrsMy first time was awesome, but every time I come I become more disappointed with the food experience.
The food and the price you pay is reasonableTheir menu is extensiveSo many choices to pick out.
We came during an off time, oops! But the owner greeted us and was so sweet and kind. Kitchen staff is on lunch from 3-4 but he said we could order some salad rolls/pastries/etc. we sat outside and had honestly the best salad rolls with an amazing peanut sauce. The sesame ball was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten in my entire life. Go here!!!
Ordered bahn mi from jade tea house, one of the best bahn mis I've had yet. They were also open when everything else was closed due to a snow day.
