What David S doesn't like about Hapa Pdx Ramen Whiskey:
Found the ramen to be a mix of temperature and odd flavors and the broth of the G Special had too much oil. Also, the Poke bowl was way too salty. I regret spending my money there. View all feedback.

I am so happy right now. I’ve had top ramen. But real ramen is another category level entirely. I am so happy right now. I got A in my summer term and my husband brought me here for day date and to celebrate. The food is so fantastic from the first to the last bite and slurp. I’m leaving so happy. The atmosphere is perfect for date night. The service is warm and laid back.Although it’s a whiskey bar, if you’re in recovery you can have any of their juices or just water. I came for the food and will be back for the food.
This was my first time at Hapa pdx ramen. WHAT a GEM!!! I didn’t really know what to expect. You walk in and they were super friendly and greeted me warmly and guided me through the menu. Everything was reasonably priced and the portions were large. I started with the seaweed salad $6) and it was a huge portion honestly it filled me up). Buuut seeing how it was my first time I ordered the hiyakashi chukka cold noodle salad $15). It was perfect for a hot summer day. The salad greens were extremely fresh looked as if they came from the farmers market. The flavors were a cool melody of Asian twist with ginger and other aromatic smells. Super fresh and delicious. I’ll be back for sure.

I recently tried the G Special Ramen and Pork Belly Rice Ball at this place, and while there were a few positives, I ended up feeling disappointed.Let’s talk about the food. The pork belly had a slight crispiness, but it was way too oily, which affected my overall enjoyment. The rice ball was honestly just a simple scoop of rice, which was quite underwhelming. Now onto the ramen, which was supposed to be the highlight. Unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. The broth had an unexpected sourness that didn’t suit my taste. The mushroom pieces in the ramen were oddly sweet, creating a strange flavor combination. The eggs were overcooked and hastily peeled, showing signs of rushed preparation. The noodles were decent but nothing remarkable. Overall, the broth was too sour, salty, and oily for my liking. The ambiance was alright, although the air conditioner was blasting, making it uncomfortably cold. The customer service was average, with a greeting upon arrival and departure. I also noticed that the water pitchers on the table were exposed without covers, which raised hygiene concerns and the need for better cleanliness practices. The appetizer arrived quickly, but the ramen took longer than expected.Considering the experience overall, it was just okay, but the prices felt high for what was offered. The ramen, which should have been the star, left me disappointed due to the sour broth and flavor inconsistencies.
