What GodZji doesn't like about Fogo De Chão Brazilian Steakhouse:
All of those five-star reviews seem to be fake. The server encourages you to give a five-star rating on Google in exchange for a free dessert. Instead of addressing their actual reviews on Yelp, they seem to be focusing on Google. They really need to improve their service and stop overbooking. Providing a 90-minute dining window would make reservation management much easier. There are plenty of areas for improvement,... View all feedback.
I’m extremely disappointed with our recent visit to Fogo de Chão. Despite having a reservation, we waited for over an hour with four hungry kids under six, one of whom was celebrating his sixth birthday. We’ve been to this restaurant several times before and have never been treated so poorly. The service was terrible; the waitstaff passed by our table repeatedly with meat but didn’t offer us any unless we specifically asked. To make matters worse, the manager seemed more focused on one particular table, constantly greeting them and offering special meats while ignoring the rest of us. Additionally, the bathrooms were in a deplorable state and clearly needed cleaning. It was a frustrating experience, and I won’t be returning. I am extremely frustrated by the lack of response after I provided my contact information, including my phone number, email, and the best times to reach me. It’s been 4days with no acknowledgment or follow-up, which is completely unacceptable. This level of neglect shows a shocking disregard for your customers. I expected much better from Fogo de Chão, but this experience has left me questioning whether you care about your patrons at all. This is not how a reputable business should treat its customers, and I’m deeply disappointed. Still waiting for someone to contact me or email me. Horrible customer service! They never called me, or email me!!
Awful experience – Would not recommend I had high expectations for this steakhouse, but it turned out to be the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. To start, we had a reservation for 5 PM but weren’t seated until 5:50 with no apology or explanation. The hosts were rude and dismissive, and the entrance was overcrowded, making it uncomfortable to wait. Once seated, our waitress disappeared, and it took forever to get anyone’s attention. I asked several times for a drinks menu, but no one came back until we were halfway through the meal, and by then I had lost interest and just ordered a Coke. The food was disappointing – cold, oily, and completely lacking flavor. The only dish I enjoyed was the smashed potatoes, but that was ruined when I found a hair in it halfway through. When I flagged down someone to address it, they said they’d bring another plate but never did. They even took my fork, leaving me waiting another 15 minutes just to get a new one. Overall, the service was slow, unprofessional, and disorganized. We didn’t even stay for dessert because the experience was so frustrating. I will never go back, and I strongly advise others to avoid this place.
The steaks, the salad bar, the personalized attention is unmatched, Amelia's facilities, a great place with amazing people
Been here a couple times and always had an ok experience. Never got charged for water any other time except my last 2 visits? The food is delicious and its a unique dining experience. Fair price as well. I had my card flipped green for 20 mins waiting for somebody to come by but they never did. I thought they ran out and were waiting for the next batch of meats to be ready but i noticed all the other tables were still getting served? I waited an additional 20 mins (40 mins total) until somebody came by with meat. Our server never checked up on us until we asked for the check. It was also not busy. I love the food here but the service needs some improvement.
Story time! We ate here last week and found a maggot on our table. The maggot crawled out from my plate and wiggled around on the table. I laughed hysterically in shock and a waiter came by to assist and we pointed out the squirming worm. Several servers returned with the manager and quickly cleared away the plates and tablecloth not before I took videos. The manager took no accountability (I’m sure he’s trained to handle situations this way but continued to repeat himself, naming the cleaning company who cleans their tablecloths, the cleaning process of their dishes and how their dishwasher functions (lol . He did not answer our questions about how the salad bar is handled or how the food is stored or whether they dispose of their food after it has been sitting out a certain amount of time. The only thing food related that he mentioned was “it couldn’t be our food, it’s all cooked isn’t it?” Respectfully sir, no, your food is not all cooked. It was all a bit ridiculous, considering the manager would not stop repeating his cleaning practices rant and was wearing enormous gaudy Louis Vuitton earrings and matching belt. He never once apologized for the inconvenience nor took responsibility for the fact that a living, squirming maggot was crawling around our table. They cleared everything away so we couldn’t check if more maggots were on our plates or in our food. He suggested the maggot fell off of another guest’s jacket while walking by our table really? I requested they check the kitchens and buffet for further maggots and contaminated food but he began his cleaning practices rant again. He honestly just didn’t seem concerned. I asked how they handle situations such as this. The manager said he has been to every Fogo de Chão (sure hun then corrected himself and said “ok not all, but *almost* every Fogo de Chão, and I never seen this before.” In the end he said they would comp the meal and not charge our card (which they ran in the midst of this conversation, but the receipt was never signed . He insisted the meal would be on them and we would not be charged. I appreciated this, as I had not enjoyed the meal after this debacle and in fact vomited the entirety of said meal in their bathroom, disgusted by the notion that I quite possibly consumed maggots : Fast forward to a week later (today and they charged us for the meal and even added their own generous tip. This is foul behavior from Fogo de Chão. They made no visible effort to resolve their maggot problem and no further effort to keep their word. They hid the maggot and tipped themselves for it. Fogo, you’re vile for this. We were gracious and laughed through the entire scenario and you did us dirty. We will never return but we will be reimbursed and compensated for your unhygienic atmosphere, dishonesty, and disrespect. Bom apetite!
