While some enjoyed the comforting array of appetizers and main courses, others found the prix fixe menu disappointing with overly salty dishes and bland main courses. Desserts received mixed reviews, with some finding them terrible and others heavenly. The restaurant ambiance was cozy, but temperature control was an issue for some. Despite the mixed reviews, the overall value for the price was noted as exceptional, making it a potential regular dining spot for those looking for reliable Italian food in a welcoming atmosphere. The staff received high praise for their service and accommodation of dietary restrictions.
I arrived a few minutes before the restaurant opened at 4pm. I was greeted promptly and seated. I ordered a glass of prosecco, the small antipasto plate as an appetizer, and the chicken scallopini. Bread was served automatically at each table. The service was great. The portion of chicken was generous. The dish could have used a bit more salt, pepper, and seasoning, but it was decent overall. I had a show to attend and managed to finish my meal in time. The server was very attentive. I would likely return to try other dishes.
As someone with Sicilian-American roots from New York City, I can confidently say that this restaurant is the real deal! It will make you feel like you're on the streets of Mulberry and Mott, or in your grandma's kitchen in Queens. Our meals were absolutely delicious and the staff was fantastic.
This was my first time dining at this restaurant, and the food was amazing. I ordered the Chicken Piccata and my friend had the 4 cheese ravioli, both of which were excellent. The staff was also fantastic, receiving 5 stars for being friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for quality Italian cuisine, just make sure not to leave any valuables in your car as Portland has had issues with smash and grab car break-ins.
We had a really good dinner on Valentine's Day at Bocci's. Flavorful, delicious alfredo cream sauce on my wild mushroom ravioli. It was so good I wanted to lick the plate! The same with my partner and his shrimp alfredo. The staff were welcoming and friendly, the house red wine was reasonably priced by the glass. Tiramisu for dessert that we shared. What a way to end a lovely dinner. Valentine's Day is a special day for us as a couple and Bocci's helped to make it memorable. We'll be back again as we have before for our special occasion.
Love this little gem. Excellent food and fantastic people
