We could see a number of Portuguese... read more Had a gorgeous meal last night at Al tapas. We were glad we walked into the side streets of Alvor and found this hidden gem. We could see a number of Portuguese people entering the restaurant as we approached it. We felt that this was a good sign. Everyone was warmly greeted by the owner who is very knowledgeable about the Portuguese wines he offers on his menu as well as all the food and tapas selections. We chose the superb baked sheeps cheese and the Iberian pork off the specials board. We tried the Portuguese steak for the main course. This was the best we have ever had in Portugal having holidayed here well over 10 times. All this was washed down with a lovely white Douro Valley wine. All in all a great evening in a restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. We shall definitely be back.
