Delicious food 9mainly fish) served in the most stunning location by extremely helpful staff. Not to be missed. Beware - they don't take cards! And don't make the mistake of asking for chips!! Other than that a fantastic experience all round. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Le Poisson Rouge:
Food is fine but nothing to write home about. Location good, on the sea front. There are many other restaurants in the area that give far better value for money. View all feedback.

We had the most amazing lunch at Le Poisson Rouge! The atmosphere was magical, right on the Mediterranean by crystal clear water. The service was wonder and wine and food just as delicious! Francois the owner was so great and welcoming! Best restaurant in the area by far!
Fantastic food, great restaurant tucked away on the shore round the bay from Port Vendres . Rustic restaurant great sea food cooked beautifully with great accompaniments, great atmosphere staff very friendly and helpful a lovely place to watch the boats and sea go past. A tucked away gem. Have to drive through 2 quite narrow tunnels to get there. This restaurant doesn't take cards Cash only.
Simply stunning location and view and some really great sea food and good service. Cannot recommend highly enough. If there is a restaurant with a better sea view, I'll eat my hat!
We visited here on the recommendation of the gardener in our villa in the mountains an hour's drive away. We were down on the coast for the day so made a point of tracking this place down. We had a lovely walk around the coastline after parking on the road just before the tunnels. It's not too far to walk but took us ages as we kept stopping to look at the amazing views! When we got there it was half an hour before lunch time opening (12.30) which just gave us enough time to retrace our steps and go in search of a cash machine as we didn't have enough cash on us - no cards accepted. To be fair, this is made clear on the boards outside and it is pointed out to you before you order. We sat right next to the shore as the waves crashed on the rocks below. Our dog (who was made very welcome) settled down under the table to watch the sea. We were greeted and served by two different people - the owner and his daughter, maybe? Both were very friendly and helpful, explaining things as best they could in English and humouring our attempts at French! The menu is quite limited, but then I find all the best places are like that. They prefer to concentrate on quality. And they did not go wrong with this. The tuna tataki and sea bream main courses were out of this world. Desserts were also amazing - something chocolatey and something lemony! Both delicious. The setting couldn't have been more perfect, the food truly outstanding and the service excellent. I expect it would be even more magical in the evening.A perfect lunch. If you're in the area you really must track this place down.
