That Breakfast Place - Port Stanley

This was our first visit to Port Stanley to see the beach. While in town we stopped at That Breakfast Place for lunch. The place was very busy when we arrived. We waited a while to be seated. Once we sat down we ordered our Meals. I tried the Firehouse Burger with a side Caesar Salad and my wife ordered the Beet and Feta Salad with an order of Perch on the side. Both of the dishes were very good. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful.

3 stars tops... just because the staff was nice and the food was alright.... but you will find an atmosphere of better days have already passed by this aging restaurant... from the smell of stale beer that is pervasive through the establishment, to the dirty window sills and cracked/broken decor. From cracked mirror paneling to dirty or missing outlet faceplates... it all adds up to I don 't care type of vibe. Was the food edible, sure... but we ordered simple food (burgers and salad). The burger tasted as though the grill hadn 't been cleaned in quite sometime... the avocado salad was toped with avocados that were going brown in colour. I think the place could be turned around with a deep cleaning and simple refurbishment. I won 't be back...

We were surprised that a breakfast place would not be open til 10:00am on a weekend. When we got there just prior to 10, there was quite a long line up. We had to wait over half an hour for our order and had to eat very quickly as we had tickets on the train for 11:00am. It was all very rushed. I would suggest opening at least 9:00am, especially on weekends

We arrived for lunch on a pretty quiet day, so top marks for being open when it would have been easier to go home! The food was cooked fresh and served piping hot (burgers and fries) all in all, they deserve every 5 star rating and if you are looking for a place to eat go here!

Fantastic stone oven pizza! Great location, next to canal. Very friendly service too! Had breakfast here too, which was also very good. Reasonably priced, casual.
