Great Food!!!. I LOVE the Downwind! The staff there are super friendly and go out of there way to get you whatever you need. I personally think that they have the best pizzas in town! But the best thing about this place is it doesn't just have pizza.. its has steaks, seafood, sandwiches, salads and much more! They are located inside the Spruce Creek Fly In (Yes PUBLIC IS WELCOME! I didn't know either until one of my close friends took me there! The little cafe is located on a taxi way which if you lucky you can see planes taxi by! I think this cafe is by far one of the best! Check it out!
Food was good, eggs cooked as requested. Potatoes were cooked and seasoned well, definitely an addition to the dish. Will recommend a try if in the area.
Name one other restaurant in the Daytona Beach area where the service is exceptional, the food is great, the prices are reasonable, is staffed by the kindest, friendliest staff AND a circa WW2 P-51 Mustang fighter will taxi right up to the outdoor cafe? I’ll wait…
5/22... Great lunch I had the steak salad which was delicious and my dining partner had the Caesar chicken wrap. Service was prompt. 7/5/22... Had the steak salad again today. It appears there's a new cook as I got chopped onions that were deep fried onthe salad instead of the typical croutons. The onions were out of this world. Then I added a hot lava cake for dessert.
Unique experience for us. Watching planes passing by. Food service was slow. Had great vegetarian options. The sloppy pig was a bomb!! Lindsey is great!
