Sorry to see this place closed. We were last there in August 2023 and the same cool waitresses who served me in 2012 (and earlier) were still there, working their tails off. Always appreciated the good food and friendly service, this place was a local favorite. View all feedback.
The first time I came here I got a chicken sandwich and it was okay (not my favorite) but my mother was craving a Ruben and Onion rings for her Birthday, so we decided to give this place another try. This time I decided to get Breakfast for dinner which was delicious. I ordered the pancakes with sausage, eggs, and a side of hash browns . Service was okay. There was 1 server for everyone (about 8 tables of 2-4 people) and she was a little standoffish when we asked her some questions. We were not in a hurry and it seemed like she was trying to rush us out of the restaurant. When we received our food she dropped it off and left. My moms onion rings were over cooked, almost burnt and we asked her if she could bring some new ones but instead of saying sure or accommodating she said they are just going to come out the same and if we wanted fries instead. Which was a little strange but I like the honesty. The dinner is cute but a like warn down and needs some TLC.
Great place for sandwiches on Channel Islands blvd. The Rueben is phenomenal. Good beers on tap, good service. I will happily frequent this business when in the area.

Been coming here for years ! We make sure when we want some good breakfast and comfort food, we come here. It's a cute vintage retro deli. It's nothing fancy but you perfect city deli with your favorite comfort foods! The customer service is always awesome and very interactive. The owner comes around and sees how you're doing and helps, the waitresses are always so friendly as well as the busboys. If you sit at the bar, the cooks are very friendly as well. We love at the front of the restaurant is the assortment of delicious cakes! Only reason for 4 stars is there's some items that I'm not a fan of, I always change up when I go and I've had 2 plates I wasn't fond of that were a bit dry the Cajun chicken sandwich and beef eater sandwich. Every other dish I've had their from other sandwiches to breakfast dishes have always been delicious. Personal faves from me and my family: monte cristo sandwich, tuna melt, corn beef, their lox and bagel and the pancakes. It's always busy but their service is very fast! Definitely a breakfast favorite!
Would give five stars, food is delicious service is great. We even come here regularly. However, with a conscious eye I found high fructose corn syrup in their catsups, and jams. Pancake syrup has no labels, so it is suspicious. Be sure to ask.. they do have organic non gmo mustard, available upon request though. Bringing my own maple syrup for the most delicious blueberry pancakes! Yum.
