We are currently staying in Port Douglas and had dinner at the Iron Bar. Wow! They kindly managed to fit us in without a booking. Glad they did! The service was friendly and quick and a great rustic atmosphere. We had the Pork Belly and Mackeral dishes and they were amazing! We hope to revisit for another meal before leaving Port Douglas for another fabulous meal. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Iron Bar:
Didn't eat, but the bar staff were very accommodating with various lemon/soda/lime and bitters combinations. Went essentially for the cane toad racing which wasn't quite what I had expected (a flat race), but it was a lot of fun, made so by the MC, Duncan, whose patter was very funny. Incidentally the toads aren't slimy - quite dry to the touch - but if you're squeamish about holding one don't put in a bid to buy a "... View all feedback.
Reservations are advised at this restaurant. The steaks are fantastic and the side dishes are tasty. The cocktails are lovely, especially the Princess of Monaco. The grilled prawns were delicious and could easily be a main dish. The deconstructed dessert was also a hit. The serving staff were very friendly. We recommended this place to another couple who also dined here. The restaurant is located on the main street and offers both outdoor and indoor dining options.
The oysters are amazing!! The steak is one of the best I've ever had, definitely worth it. The staff is fantastic and very attentive. Couldn't find any faults here, would definitely come back again if we return to Port Douglas.
The food and drinks at Iron Bar were fantastic. The steak was cooked perfectly and the cut was excellent. The sides were delicious and definitely worth trying. Our Mother's Day dinner experience was amazing thanks to the great service. We absolutely loved Iron Bar.
We ate at the Iron bar twice on our 5 days visit. This was the best food we had while visiting port douglas. Big shout out to Mario(Matheo)
The place is just an average however they known for their steak, we have had a couple of different steaks including dry ages scotch and normal scotch which we thought the dry aged one wasn’t as good and thick as the normal one however it meant to be better. But their special sauce was awesome. As an entre we’ve had **** mary oysters which was the hit of the night (obviously we aksed for the second round too) The staff was helpful too with sharing info on their food and helping us with a small anniversary surprise
