Hitide - Port Douglas

My wife had the gnocchi with a very nice, tasty garden salad. I had the Hi Tide 'signature dish ' the Chowder, which rather like a previous reviewer, it was watery, as in the liquid was rather like a milky flavoured solution and the filling wasn 't memorable, 2 prawns which tasted nice, fresh, 3 or 4 mussels, lots of pipi 's and nothing else discernable. Needs to be a much thicker broth to resemble a classic chowder and some solid pieces of fish would have added some different taste and texture pity really, I was expecting something special

Very disappointing, especially as this was in the top restaurants in port douglas. menu was chic, but not just the expectations we had. we are not pleasant mains were disappointing we had $50 steaks surf turf. top with kartoffels. steak was cold the only thing we enjoyed was the sourdough bread that had a diner who had a boy who enjoyed

Perfect food, perfect service, perfect setting. Definitely coming back!

My wife loved the slow cooked beef cheek. I had the seafood chowder which was outstanding. There were also Oysters on special and they were delicious. Thank you we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and highly recommend to all. Peter
