I don't know what they did as bacon and eggs are super common - but the bacon was sensational, the eggs cooked to perfection, the toast with fresh bread, the hospitality top notch! YUM View all feedback.
What Conor Hermiston doesn't like about Angela's Place:
This was the only place for food in Port Clements. It was once said that we had set ourselves and the menus (which were on the table) saw that they had run out of food since the previous day. The staff was friendly. The pastries were stable, but the coffee was good. View all feedback.
This place has been in my family since my grandparents moved here many many many years agoThey'd always make us come here for their Italian fix.
We drove up and down Blanding looking for a Mom and Pop Italian place, and we found this place.
Angela's Place, located in the community of Port Clements, is attached to the town gas bar. The space is fairly small (some would say "cozy"), and is clearly a hangout for the locals. Maybe it's because of the small space, but when I visited I kind of felt out of place -- like an outsider. Granted, most who visit small communities tend to feel a little out of place because everybody tends to know everybody, but it just seemed more pronounced here. When I dined at the Yakoun River Inn I didn't feel nearly as awkward. . . but then, the space is larger, so maybe it's a spatial thing.Anyway, that said, the service was friendly and the food was fine -- typical fare, nothing to write home about. A clubhouse is a clubhouse, after all; however, I will give them this: the carrot cake was great! It was fluffy and not too sweet (often a fine balance when dealing with this type of cake). Would I return? Probably not, but that's not a knock on the place by any means.FOOD: 2.5/5SERVICE: 3/5VALUE: 2.75/5RECOMMENDATION: If you're looking for a quick bite to eat in Port Clements before continuing on with an adventure, this place is probably your best bet. . .not that you have much in the way of options in Port ;)
We got off the Ferry very early in the morning 5:30am nowhere was open couldn't go to our hotel till 3 so we drove round and found Angela's place around 9am wish we'd gone sooner we were met with smiles and a very good hot breakfast as I'm a fuss pot and carry my own tea bags was allowed to make my own tea and use their cups milk and sugar we left Angela's much better off with knowledge of the surrounding area and the Golden Spruce would return happily recommend to anyone visiting the area
