As a first time visitor to Port Augusta, and not really wanting to go far from the hotel I was staying at, I found the Pastoral ideal for what I wanted. The lemon, lime &bitters was very fresh and cold and the fish and chips I ordered (along with a green garden salad) was well cooked, plentiful and filling. Surrounds were very pleasant and the staff just the right amount of attentive. Definitely recommended for a bis... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Pastoral Hotel Motel Bistro:
At least this was open so gave it a try. Looked forward to garfish but unfortunately it was hard! How does one make a delicate fish like this hard? Not enjoyable at all. Pub food only don't expect much more. View all feedback.
I recommend going to the Pastoral Hotel Motel Bistro with friends. They offer a diverse range of drinks and wines, along with deliciously prepared food. The staff is very friendly and the ambiance is cozy and comfortable.
I used to live in Port Augusta and my family still resides there. We recently celebrated a family birthday at the Pastoral restaurant. The portion sizes of all our meals were generous and everyone from ages 2 to 87 enjoyed their food. The food was well-prepared and delicious. The Pastoral has always been a popular gathering spot and it's reassuring to know that the quality of the meals has remained consistently good.
Called in for lunch and even though they had a major computer ordering problem for meals they did an excellent job. Huge meals from the specials menu with all meals priced at $13.90 which came with bread roll. Very tasty and would definitely visit again
We were looking forward to eating here since all the reviews were very positive. I can tell you our experience was not positive at all. We walked in at 5:45 pm to an empty dining room and asked for table for 2. The server asked...if we had a reservation. We didn't and she said we could sit anywhere that didn't have a reservation sign, so we sat a table for 2. The dining room was set up for about 3 large reservations (7 10 people) and the remaining tables were not reserved. She gave us menus and walked away. We weren't offered water, no drink order was taken nothing! A family of 6 walked in and she was friendly with them, chatting them up, and taking their order. After seeing that and being ignored for 15 minutes we walked out and went down the street to Ian's Western Hotel which was 200% better!! We have never felt so unwelcome at a restaurant until today. This hotel restaurant doesn't even deserve a 1!
