What a let down, very friendly helpful staff. Beautifully deep fried Camembert arrived cold on a cold plate with very cold plum sauce. King George whiting beautifully crumbed arrive on a very cold plate with cool chips. Rump steak medium rare arrive medium and the roughest piece of meat you ever saw. Salad bar so so. Highly recommend the Rib Eye and when in season som of the local whiting would be mouth watering. Absolutely worth a try.
Business trip, tired and annoyed that my hotel doesn't have room service, so I venture out to this hotel. Its surprisingly modern in its inner decor, and the welcome was warm and friendly. I don't think the Publican's name is Cookie, but I did feel like I'ld stepped into "A Country Practice".Seriously though, the Beer Batter King George Whiting???Really Really good!I'm here for 4 nights, so I may return and sample the steak....
Good food and good service. The publican is very friendly and takes pride in his food and drink choice. He takes time to explain the menu item if you show an interest in something new.

This is a good pub option. Good for a family group, classic pub food options at reasonable prices. Presentation is a little bit ordinary and the salad bar could do with a makeover but small negatives.
