very good service, welcome, professional. eat definitiw better than ordinary pub chain with some more interesting stuff. I wondered if the eating of the website zb prepared by brakes, then cooked and finished in anchorage kitchen. needs a few specials that are made by pre-site cooks desserts good worth, but not exceptional. decent weinliste. will go again. What User doesn't like about The Anchorage:
the place was freezing. most had to eat with a coat. the prawn and lobster cocktail, the lobster was chewing. no finger shell. the meat was not rare, but raw and we had to send it back to be cooked more. the table opposite was never cleared and we sat on a dirty table for all our meal, very bad impression. The portion of salmon was very small for the price and the fennel was uneatable. Also the roast beef was difficult to cut. The potatoes and carrot were undercooked.
The staff were friendly and very helpful. You were made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. A nice selection of options on the menu and the food was very nice.
A bit disappointed. A nice makeover of Loch Fyne, pleasant helpful staff and good ambience. Burger was cold, a lovely Sea Bass fillet was served with chorizo (overwhelming and an odd choice of complementary flavours! . Three of the main wine choices were unavailable on an already limited wine list. It 's early days but a disappointing start.
We were seated at the tiniest table not big enough for 2 people eating, with coats hanging over my head. Then we were completely ignored for 20 minutes by staff, couldn't even catch anyone's eye, no drinks order even taken. We ended up walking out before we were even seen to due to the disappointing service.
