Fully licensed Beach Bar/Cafe now closed for the winter season. Reopening in March. Enjoy a pint and fresh seafood with us at the only place on Swanage beach. Our menu features Swanage made beer battered fish buttys, hand dived scallops, handpicked dressed crab, Octopus and chorizo tagine, as well as lighter options like paninis, baguettes, and burgers. Treat yourself to a Mr whippy in the sun for something sweet. We serve breakfast until 11 and lunch until 3, so you can wind down with a cold glass of wine or a pint in the early evening.

I haven't been feeling well this summer, so I haven't been able to visit as often as I would have wanted. Despite the slightly chilly wind, I was greeted with a warm and friendly welcome. The delicious coffee quickly warmed me up, and I enjoyed a small plate of tastefully presented dishes that I could easily manage. The staff were as kind as always. I highly recommend this place.

Eating at 'Down the Beach' is always a delightful experience. Ashley and his staff provide tasty food at affordable prices with friendly service. The menu is expansive, but standouts include the delicious breakfasts and afternoon teas. Indulge in a warm scone with clotted cream and locally made jam, while enjoying the beautiful view from the deck overlooking the beach. Along with traditional café dishes, you can also purchase ice cream, beach games, buckets and spades, and even rent windbreaks and deck chairs. It's the perfect spot for a beach day outing!

Wonderful little beachfront cafe serving breakfasts. panini, baguettes and burgers. Beats other places in swanage by a mile, the best burger I’ve ever had.

Yessss. The season at this delightful cafe has started. As usual, lovely to see Ash and co. As usual, delicious lunch. Sat in the sun reading a book with coffee after. Just love it. So close to the Sea, you can sit and listen. Watch the boats and relax. Just fabulous. X
