A lovely cafe to stop chat with friends over a nice cup of something warm whilst enjoying either some delicious homemade cake or one of the many hot meals on offer! Worth a visit! View all feedback.
What Lyn3003 doesn't like about New Orchard Cafe:
Passed this cafe by chance. Popped in for tea and cake. A lovely place that served my tea in China cup and saucer and no leakage with the tea pot. Gorgeous coffee cake. Definitely return. Shame not open Sundays. View all feedback.
Now a Thai rest. This cafe has been closed for quite a long time so don’t bother to visit it unless you want Thai food.
This is a very friendly cafe with smiles and jokes. It is obviously a favourite location for older customers who are known by name and friends. It was obvious to me that the owners care about their community. The food is a mixture of Asian and typical British cafe fare. It is cooked promptly and fresh. The prices are also very reasonable. There is a large forest mural on the wall and a loop of birdsong is played in the background. This was a nice calming touch and the owner explained that this is a proper live recording. I liked that tea was served with a nice teapot and a china cup and saucer.
New Orchard Cafe has a strange vibe to it. Decor feels a bit weird but the staff seem pleasant enough and the food is tasty, as well as being a very reasonable price. The menu is a bit of an odd mix of jacket potatoes, sandwiches and oriental food, but I suppose it gives a variety of choice. They have a separate vegan menu with some nice options. I had some pan-fried vegan dumplings, which came as a very generous portion and were really tasty. The homemade chilli sauce was also lovely. The dumplings came with a decent sized salad and the meal came to £5.50. The gentleman at the counter seemed to think I was a guy, but I had just rolled in out of the rain and was wearing training gear so I won't put that as too much of a mark against them. Aside from a mild case of misgendering, the service was friendly enough and prompt. Good shout if you're looking for vegan food in Poole city centre. Everywhere else seemed to have limited or non-existent options.
What a lovely place, been there a few times, the owners are very nice and friendly . Very reasonable price , nice place to visit when you’re in Poole. Highly recommended.
This cafe is now under new management. We called in for lunch. As soon as we opened the door there was a strong aroma of Chinese food. The menu now is peculiar, Chinese food, jacket potatoes, sandwiches, English breakfast and cake. Coffee wasn't that nice. Ordered a jacket potato with cheese and beans plus poached eggs on toast. The meals did not arrive together, the potato came first with the beans in the potato but the cheese was on the side salad. Five minutes later the eggs on toast arrived. Bill was £11. There wasn't much finesse and we didn't really enjoy our visit. Wouldn't rush back.
