Pontlevoy is a surprising find on our journey.

This was a mistake as the food, service and casual "frenchness" were fantastic. The value was also terrific with a two course meal only EUR 12.90 and the each course was huge. Beer was lovely and cold and reasonably priced.The owner was a lovely guy, very helpful who speaks English well as others have said.Not normally open for Dinner but could be in July and August during the peak period.

Pour le fromage, plus de pain... Et le dessert bof.Pas d'effort sur le service (demande de rosé, en + du rouge : refus !).En bref : déçevant.

The owner speaks very good English and the place is used a lot by the locals, very French, American students at the Abbey school and of course from the many Gites close by. The atmosphere is typical French, the same as the food. We sat in the square outside to eat and we're joined several times by very friendly people making us very welcome in the village. Make the effort and seek this place out, just follow the signs to the Abbey
