Houston's - Pompano Beach
Houston's
Description
Houston's offers an enchanting waterfront dining experience, attracting patrons with its stunning views and vibrant atmosphere. While many guests praise the attentive service and delectable dishes like NY strip and ribs, others express disappointment over inconsistencies in food quality, particularly with undercooked or overcooked meats. Highlights include well-received artichokes and efficient team service, though slow timing and occasional mismanagement have been noted. Regular visitors cherish the nostalgic ambiance, but some newfound issues with kitchen execution may require attention. Overall, Houston's remains a recommended choice for a special occasion, despite mixed reviews on recent visits.

Had my first date w my husband 26 years ago today, so we always go on may 3rd. Same fabulous atmosphere and service and the most delicious drinks and food. Had a NY strip that was as tender as a filet, w yummy mashed and broccoli. Les had a great hamburgerw french fries and a side of the best creamed corn, finished w a delicious brownie w vanilla ice cream. Everything waswonderful, including our server, Tatiana. A lovely evening ? ????
Used to come here in the 90s, so you could say it’s been awhile. Great views of the Intercoastal waterway, that you can enjoy with a glass of wine while waiting for your table. There is a Bar outside and inside, also seating inside and out. This placehas a nice ambience, the service was on point. The food is good. I would however love to see more seafood choices.
I absolutely love Houston's! They offer fantastic food, outstanding service, and a wonderful atmosphere. I've been visiting the Houston's in New York for several years, and I've also been to the one in Florida, and they've consistently delivered a great experience. I highly recommend trying their locations in Bal Harbor and Aventura as well. As for the dining experience, I believe they could benefit from hiring more staff, but this is a common issue across many establishments these days. I do appreciate that they haven’t filled every table to capacity, which allows them to maintain a good balance between the number of tables and the staff available, including the chefs in the back. This approach helps keep the service and quality high, even when operating with limited capacity.
This restaurant consistently delivers an excellent experience. The atmosphere, food, and service are all outstanding, particularly our bartender Rachel, who is fantastic. She recommended the fried oysters, and I must say, they are a must-try! They were absolutely incredible. I highly recommend this establishment. It's one of the rare places that has maintained, if not improved upon, its quality over the past 20 years.
Like many waterfront restaurants, you're mainly paying for the view here. Some dishes were average, but the oysters stood out as particularly disappointing. They were flash-fried, resulting in a cold, raw interior and an excessive amount of bland breading on the outside. The service was quite slow, and the ribs were somewhat dry. On the positive side, we did enjoy the artichokes. Overall, I'm not sure I'll return.
