Pleasant but unremarkable lunch. Typical Tuscan fare in a countryside setting. Lovely terrace and views for nicer weather, but we dined there in mid-February. Although the weather was quite mild, we dined indoors. Prices are reasonable, service was fine, and the personnel are pleasant. Nothing to complain about.
My boyfriend and I went here for dinner because we were hoping for a truly good Tuscan Italian restaurant experience. Unfortunately, the food was a disappointment for us. It wasn’t terrible, but it fell into the “neither good nor bad” category. Our biggest issue was that in several dishes it felt like the key ingredients were missing or used very sparingly. For example, in the ricotta and spinach ravioli we could barely taste the ricotta, and the tiramisu really lacked mascarpone. The pasta was also so oily that it felt almost soaked in oil. The place itself is cute and has a nice atmosphere, and the service was friendly, so we had no complaints about that. That’s why it was even more disappointing that the food didn’t deliver the Tuscan Italian restaurant experience we were hoping for. We haven’t had this kind of experience elsewhere in the area so far, which is why it was quite a disappointment for us.
Fantastic place The food was delicious. The plain bread served as a starter was amazing – crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I don't eat bread, but this was irresistible. Local wine, local olive oil, and freshness on the plate. An outdoor dining spot with a beautiful view. We often travel to Italy for work. We go to places where I'd give a 5/5 rating, but there are so many restaurants that you want to try every single one, so we don't go back to the same ones. However, this restaurant is a place I'll definitely visit in 20 years and I'll definitely visit again. In short, it was wonderful. It's the kind of place on the road that's hard to find by accident. It's not Pisa and the city center, after all, but this is true Tuscany. Big bravo to the hosts
We went to this restaurant on an evening celebrating a birthday and a wedding anniversary. I'd like to point out that the service wasn't prompt, especially since there were only a few people serving. However, the service was professional, kind, and friendly. We had appetizers with traditional cured meats, which were quite tasty (I've had better), tagliatelle with wild boar, and two cacio e pepe dishes (also tasty). I would have liked to try the pici, but they weren't available, nor were the gnocchi. Finally, the desserts were decent. Prices were average. I wouldn't return, but in the area (in the middle of nowhere), I think it's the only good one.
