Three of had dinner there. COVID compliance was first rate. Staff very helpful. Menu was restricted a little by COVID but the food we ordered was freshly cooked and excellent. Not pretentious, an everyday pub with excellent food and well priced. View all feedback.
What Michael Wood doesn't like about The George:
We were a group of six people looking forward to enjoying a Sunday roast at this restaurant. Unfortunately, we had to wait for an hour before our food finally arrived. When it did, we were disappointed to find that we only received two portions of vegetables and one serving of cauliflower cheese to share among the six of us. View all feedback.
I had THE most delicious roast dinner here recently! Delicious food, friendly staff and a warm inviting setting! Well done and thank you!
We came out for our anniversary meal. The staff and atmosphere were great and welcoming with all the relevant safety precautions in place. Our service was great and food arrived very promptly and hot, portion sizes were huge, so good value for money. We both...had burgers, myself a Southern fried burger and husband beef burger which we both really enjoyed and the quality was brilliant. Both of our starters were also great. Although this was our first visit it definitely will not be our last, highly recommend!
Food was terrible. Frozen veg, cold roast potatoes, beef that must have been cooked for a week and gravy made by uncle Albert. Plenty of non empty plates all around. What could be a nice place to eat is generally full of noisy yobs loudly...chanting. Drinks expensive Won't be rushing back.
Came in at lunch time, hats off to the chef lovely food- Guy who served us was very polite top service Highly recommend.
Very comfortable room great nights sleep lovely breakfast friendly staff Would gladly stay again and would recommend
