This is a very good Mexican place in an unexpected location. They have a good menu, and everything I've had had always been prepared well. If you're staying at the 49er RV park or just passing through, you owe it to yourself to stop in. View all feedback.
What gregg dehart doesn't like about Colina De Oro:
The food was pretty good. Took a long time to get our drinks and food, though. Margaritas were decent. I had the shrimp burrito. Very generous portion of shrimp. View all feedback.
On my first trip to Amador City and Plymouth, just randomly stopped at Colina De Oro and became a pleasant experience. Food was great, I ordered Chicken Enchilada, tasted like authentic Mexican cuisine. Great environment and friendly staff hosted me with smile and positive attitude. Highly recommended. Parking: There’s more parking spots on the back side

Servers were friendly and seated us quickly and given chips that seemed old and the salsa tasted like the tomatoes were canned. The place looks dingy and run down. There were lots of happy people at the bar. Food lacked flavor and was not as expected based on menu descriptions. I ordered the fajita taco meal. I expected freshly grilled onions and peppers. The photo is what I got. Not sure how the peppers got to be so small and stringy? Maybe from a can too? Had to salt it heavily to taste anything. Next time we will find something else.
The food was very good, and the margaritas we're tasty. I like their carnitas, and my wife likes the tostada with chicken, and no shell (gluten free).
Colina de oro is not a real Mexican restaurant, food doesn't taste at all. We ate burrito and tacos there. Prices is about $16 most of dishes. One star for food n 4 stars for service. We would not recommend food there.
