The new bistro styled restaurant was clean airy with generous spacing...between tables. The menu was simple and less dependant on seafood than before but there was still a great choice. You could not fault the quality, quantity or the service all at a reasonable price. Infact I enjoyed it so much I will go again tomorrow and tick off a few more dishes on the menu.

We did manage to find another restaurant nearby which had just opened on...the 23rd which was OK but it was not in the same class as L'Himbert. We learned from them that L'Himbert had closed, they thought, due to possibly large overheads. Who knows. I just hope that someone can take it on again as it was really special, had great ambience and served great food.

We received a warm welcome on our arrival and we were soon sitting down to excellent...meals, and the café gourmand was very special.

The food was typical French dishes, well presented and good value set menus. The young waiter with...his Pidgeon English and our Pidgeon Franzosen have ordered good fun and an adventure! Beloved some of the dishes, but typical in France, make sure that you request steak to be cooked to your taste like the French cooked. Starters and desserts fabulous with good choice of networks also. Would you go back definately if the next one in the area.

It was fine and like all these workers lunch places, very good value. We then ate at La Himbert with 3 cyclists in the evening.... Even the dinner menu at €18 is good. The portions are generous, but the quality of the dishes varies. After being in France for two and a half months and lacking the better aspects of British food such as Fish Chips, my husband and I decided to try. Unfortunately it was not freshly broken fish, probably a finished version of this plate and probably frozen... as my husband's part and mine were identical, to triangular in shape, just like when we buy this frozen from any British supermarket. I wouldn't have mentioned it, but the waiter always said it was better than in the UK. Unfortunately, that's not true. I didn't say anything when we were with English friends and didn't want to march the atmosphere of another beautiful evening.... The rest of the food was good and we will probably come back in another visit, but we will stay clear of the fish chips. There is a kind of fashion right now in France for fish chips that is good as it makes a good meal when well prepared... Perhaps the French chefs should have a week in Britain in a real fish chips restaurant like the well-known establishment in Witby to learn how to ask fish from scratch... The service is friendly and fast enough mostly at noon.
