Was there for second time, now chef was on vacation so I was somekind of doubting. This time it was even better if possible). Fresh cod, well done, best vegetables, reccomended wine excellent. If you are in that region, a must. View all feedback.
Because the hotels were way to expensive in Stuttgart itself, I ended up in the little town of Plochingen. Restaurant Cervus had good reviews, so worth a try. I was not disappointed. Service was swift and friendly. The food is mainly German style, even though I read there was also some mediterranean style food. I took liver and was not disappointed. German cuisine is not my favourite, but in this restaurant the German food is as good as it can get. The espresso afterwards was very good. I would recommend this restaurant if you are in the area.
I was there for business. I didn't choose. I expected the typical German food with beer, but in reality I was impressed by the type of dishes, the quality and presentation. All superb, also wine. I can only recommend
General conclusion (for quick readers in advance: for such a culinary experience there is no way too far. The Cervus is now an insider tip and very popular. Reserve at least 8 10 days in advance for evening visits. The small guest house Cervus (in German Hirsch is located in the middle of Plochingen, opposite BW Bank. Since January 2012 it has been run by Johannes Filler. Previously, there was La Cantina Toscana, after an idea of an Italian gastronomic and the architect Th.M. Leibssle, who was born at pane e vino ideell, which shows a corresponding sign on the wall next to the wine tubes. It is very crisp, with its only 38 seats a real feel-good kitten. It is very good to reach by car, parking in the mountain road can be problematic in peak times. For the following culinary experience, however, you can buy this initial problem. I've been there for the first time today, but certainly not for the last time. It's the first time I've lost 5 stars all, but this little ball deserves it. I just closed it in my heart. Operation The operation of an older, very well-maintained lady, (note. Unfortunately, in retirement, but also the successors are very acceptable, with basic gastronomic knowledge, provided a first-class, stylish, non-placed service. I felt really safe with her (which unfortunately cannot be said many times today). It quickly served the drink and after a pleasant waiting period soup and main dish. Insurgently, she asked for my well-being several times and gave me friendly, professional answers to my questions. Inconspicuously, after each guest she knew the table used. The handwritten menu was the first aha experience. It contained only 6 dishes, which, however, did not reduce the agony of choice. The ordered, very appetizing pumpkin cream soup (3,50 € from a hokaido pumpkin decorated with roasted pumpkin seeds and pumpkin seed oil tasted excellent. It was perfectly tasted and served in a very appealing plate. No trace of artificial flavor enhancers. Lovely natural kitchen. Shortly after the soup the cook (and owner and kindly explained to me that he did not get the ordered duck livers delivered in time, which he was very sorry. As a substitute, he offered me a duck breast at the same price (8, €). I accepted thanks and was curious what expected me. What was served was not a mere duck breast of the usual kind, but a small dream. Six delicious delicate and juicy slices of duck breast fried to the point with wonderfully pink skin. The natural frying fond perfectly rounded off the taste, as well as the premium-class berry spread on it. Add a fresh arable salad with fine balsamicodressing and baguette slices (Parisienne). I am very excited about it now. After dinner The dinner card holds what the lunch card promises. My self-selected menue was Aperitif 1 glass Fränzi (Frizzante v. Schloss Castell with elder blossoms 4.70 € Soup potato foam with trout cloves and kebel 7.00 € Appetizer Gamberoni and Calamari on leaf spider (see photo 11.00 € Dessert Crème brûlée 7,50 € Beverages 1⁄4 Meersburger Spätburgunder Rosé 4,80 € 1 Fl dinner 4,80 € As an absolute delicacies, the evening card contains a 4 course surprise menu for 48, €. Here the chef dies according to all the rules of art. What's in there won't be betrayed. The ambience The entrance and the windows are stylishly labeled with the name of Cervus Gasthaus. The small restaurant is very nicely furnished. Right next to the entrance a small side room, left of which the main room with counter and passage to the open kitchen. As an attribute to the name, next to the counter there is a deer grazing that didn't bother me at all in this case. The guest room is characterized by its open kitchen, you can watch the cook prepare the ordered food. It is decorated with pictures and figures by regional artists and equipped with darkly read tables and padded, antique chairs. Some of the tables already show signs of use, which does not break the flair. The lighting is very pleasant but nevertheless effective. It consists of several rows of inconspicuous ceiling lights. The walls are decorated with several rows of tone tubes that serve to store red wine bottles. The chairs are in bright beech wood in the side room around the corner. The furnishing in the next room at the entrance has a pleasant walnut tone. Everything awakens the impression of a cozy room. The walls of the kitchen are covered high with polished granite plates. It's not cleaner. The toilet areas are also very loving and yet expedient. I can't resist the impression that there was a lot of positive feminine power at the plant. Cleanliness With one word said: TOP
