Description

Fatt Root in Pleasantville has garnered a mix of reviews, reflecting both its culinary strengths and operational challenges. Diners praise the generous, flavorful portions and thoughtful menu, featuring standout dishes like Crispy Chicken Bao Buns and Spicy Beef Noodles. The ambiance is enjoyable, particularly with outdoor seating. However, some have reported slow service during busy hours and inconsistencies, with takeout orders causing chaos for dine-in guests. While the drinks and mocktails are well-loved, a lack of traditional offerings like sake has left some diners disappointed. Overall, Fatt Root is celebrated for its vibrant flavors but invites attention to service efficiency.

My wife and I ate here 5/26/23 and wow very impressive. Casual family atmosphere and nice hazy IPA on tap. We shared the pork bao bun and duck spring roll! Excellent. And also shared the spicy crispy chicken rice bowl. Great choices. We will be back!

This restaurant is one of the best in the area! The menu is small but carefully curated, with changes periodically. The food is incredibly flavorful, fresh, and high-quality. The service is excellent and if something isn't to your liking, just let them know and they'll make it right. The restaurant recently underwent renovations, transforming it from a take-out spot to a cozy dinner spot with a pleasant atmosphere. They've also added a bar with amazing cocktails, sake, and other drinks. I highly recommend it! Some stand-out dishes include the Crispy Chicken Bao Buns, BBQ Skirt Wing, Tuna Poke Bowl, and 5-Spice Ribs.

This was our first time dining at Fatt Rot. The food itself was reasonably good, not great but solidly good. We both had the Classic ramen. Some other things were not as good. The music blasted so loud when we came in, diner conversation would have beenimpossible. We gently asked if the music volume could be lowered and the waitress went back to ask someone, and they adjusted itby a merely a hair. At least now we could hear each other, but in a place like this the stereo can overtake everything as thesound carries. It's not a good dining experience. They are an Asian ramen bistro with a full stacked bar, yet no sake. How can aramen restaurant not offer sake you ask? I have no idea, as it belongs to the food like a pretzel and beer go together atOktoberfest. Then, to my shock, they don't even have green tea! It was generally weird culture confusion. Not even close toanything authentic, but passable.
