We've never been to a restaurant in Burmese. We're glad we're here. Food was really good and the service attentive, but not intrusive. It was a late dinner and sometimes the end of the night quality does not mean here. Everything was fresh and full of taste. We really enjoyed it. View all feedback.
What Randy B doesn't like about Experience Burma Restaurant Bar:
Experience Burma is located a few shops down on a small street just east of Main street. You really have to look for it.It's very cute inside, and clean. Seats about 40 inside, and has a small bar.The menu has all the usual Burmese items, so batter up.The gf, pooch, and I ordered: EB Style tea leaf salad w/cabbage $14.50, 4.0 stars] delicious, but far from the best I've had. Lemongrass Chicken $17.50, 3.5 stars] good... View all feedback.
I ordered the following items from this restaurant: vegetable dip parathas, samosas, tea leaf salad, chicken pad Thai, mint chicken, and beef stew. I remember when the food here had a lot of flavor, but this time it was very bland. The tea leaf salad was decent, but the other dishes were lacking in flavor and taste. It's disappointing because the food here used to be quite good.
We really enjoy the food at this restaurant and have visited several times in the past. However, during our most recent visit, a large group of 14 people seemed to monopolize the attention of both servers. As a result, the service for the smaller tables, including ours, was quite poor. The members of the larger group complained that their server was unresponsive after their initial call, while we had to reach out more than six times before receiving help. With all the chaos and confusion, our dishes arrived very late, and one of them was not what we ordered. We also had to repeat several of our requests multiple times before the servers finally placed our orders.
We stopped by for a light lunch while in town for a wedding. The menu looked fantastic, and we were excited to try some Burmese cuisine. We shared a coconut curry chicken dip and a noodle dish with chicken, onion, and cilantro. The dip was more like a large chicken breast floating in a light broth, accompanied by some fried bread. It wasn't bad, but it lacked flavor and didn't really feel like a dip. The noodle dish was quite bland, with the strong taste of raw red onion dominating; it really needed some spice or acidity to elevate it. The service was disappointing; it took 15 minutes for us to receive our diet Cokes. The food came out quickly, but after finishing, we found ourselves waiting for about 20 minutes with dirty plates before we had to go look for our server. There are so many great restaurants in the downtown area, so I’m sure there are better choices.
Shared the tea leaf salad with shrimp and basil lamb. Food was delicious, service was delightful and responsive. Food came quickly. Cloth tablecloths and napkins made it feel like a good value. Plus I never make this food at home so I’m more than happy to pay for it. Highly recommended.
So good!!! Fast friendly service. Tea leaf salad was amazing. Garlic eggplant, sesame chicken, and everything else was superb.
