Good food and good service. Being a Tuesday, there were only two other tables filled when we arrived so it was nice and quiet. Server was very friendly, and can't specifically call them out because almost all of today's servers do this, but it really annoys me when they refer to the table as “you guys”. How about just saying you, or you all, or folks? Restaurants really should instruct their staff to address their gu... View all feedback.
What JohnH doesn't like about Eddie Papa's American Hangout:
Acknowledging it was busy on a Sunday afternoon, I still expected at least decent service and food. Started out by not having the red ale on the menu and no other dark beer selection available. Grilled cheese was over cooked and very dry. Server kept asking us to wait before getting our drink order, coming back with drinks, getting our food order, and never checked on us during our entire meal. All that said, and it... This place has been around for awhile but it was my first time here. Another late lunch for us so not a lot of people at that time. Unfortunately they said they will be closing down soon. The food was tasty (Texas Nacho) and servings are huge, especially, the club sandwich. Afterwards they gave us a courtesy cotton candy which was a nice touch. Kid-friendliness: The menu has many options, so even a picky kid would be able to enjoy.
Overall nice place for a casual meal with family and friends. We all enjoyed our food. Felt the service was a bit slow. Food took a long time to get and not much attention during our meal.
We heard on our recent visit that Eddie Pappas will be closing for good by the end of the month. Better go now if you want your last fix of some favorite dish! Thanks for the memories, Ed!
This was my first visit. I was attracted by its diverse menu, but was disappointed by how the food was prepared. The chicken and waffles don't use pieces of chicken, but boneless, breaded chicken breast. The San Diego tacos were stuffed with too much buffalo cauliflower and too much sauce. Eating these was really messy. The rice served with the tacos was tasty, but undercooked to the point of almost being crunchy. There's a Chili's across the parking lot. I would go there next time.
Came for Mother's Day brunch with modest expectations and I was extremely surprised at the quality of the offering and service. I was worried when I saw it was buffet, but again, it was Mother's Day and I know restaurants get hammered that day and it made sense. The format worked, it was easy to move through, the food offering was wide and varied...and biggest surprise of all, it actually tasted as good (if not a little better) as it looked. I'm sure they are short staffed like everyone else but this format allowed them to operate on a busy day without a service hiccup. The host , who I believe is the owner, was calm, welcoming, and warm. This was our go-to family event restaurant before the pandemic and it definitely reclaimed its place at the top of our list.
