Wences is always great. Only thing that was a slight bummer, ordered mussels and at least 6 of them did not open. There's no way they didn't notice that as they were serving them. The oysters, hamachi crisp and scallops were awesome though. We love this spot and will be back! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Wence's:
I normally enjoy Wence's but our waitress was terrible! Bad attitude, not attentive, slow to serve, unfriendly, did not pay attention as we asked for separate checks but then she of course “forgot” and brought one check and had attitude when we had to remind her to please split the check. She came across as angry and resentful and didn't deserve a tip( but I gave her one anyway as I am a nice person). It was a Sunday... View all feedback.
Ordered fish and chips..it was deep fried and I was sick rest of the day. The inside dining room is way too noisy hard to hear yourself speak Parking: Small lot to service 3 restaurants
We enjoyed our birthday night out here and did the early bird dinners. The lobster chowder was delicious and my chicken was very good as well. Dining companions had the pasta and enjoyed it, fish and chips, and the salmon. The gelato dessert was well presented and tasty as well. Portions are ample without being over the top. We would go back again.
Have enjoyed this restaurant for many years but last night had new server named Chris who truly elevated the experience. Well done Chris!
I liked the ambiance and the staff of this restaurant very much. The food on the other hand, not so much... We ordered chicken scallopini a jambalaya pasta. Both were overcooked. The pasta dish was an oily bowl of molten lava when served; I could not try it for 10 minutes it was so hot; by then, the shrimp, chicken sausage inside were overcooked, rubbery and tasteless. The chicken in the other dish was way overdone, as well. It could not even be cut with the knife. The scalloped potato side was hard and flavorless, as if it was made last week. We took the leftovers and threw them away. Then, I ate about 10 anti-acids because the jambalaya gave me the worst gas I ever had. $60 for a poorly cooked meal +tip. We won't be returning. I suggest to the very kind manager: try the food that you are serving and hire a chef that knows how to prepare the items on the menu properly.
