Our Restaurant kitchen closes at 14h30, and our Tasting Room closes at 16h00, with last full tastings and wine by the glass served at 15h00. Pivnushka beer garden — lackluster Was here for farewell lunch with colleagues — 6 guests in total. For starters has to pay upfront deposit of R100 pp just to get a reservation on dineplan. Ugh. Could only get a table for 14:30 which I booked. Wasn’t aware that kitchen closes at 4pm. Also wasn’t given a heads up by server that kitchen closes at 4pm so we couldn’t get dessert. Been here a few times but never ever posted, the food here is so underrated it’s not even funny. The views are the cherry on top but the food is Michelin star quality and worthy of 5 stars! Compliments to the chef and all staff at De Grendel.
I was there two weeks ago and it was a really great experience. The setting is stunning, the restaurant beautiful and the service excellent. We got a little “amuse bouche”. Not sure what it was but is was yummy. We had a starter of Yellowfin Tuna which was absolutely delicious, a little too much oil but still delicious. Booked a tour and picnic. Thank you to Douglas our tour guide who was so friendly and sharing interesting information about the farm. The picnic area is beautiful with the best view of Table Mountain. Highly recommended
Was a privilege to take part in the winemakers dinner on 29 Sep 2022. Food and drinks pairings were superb and an absolute joy. An unforgettable fine dining experience
