While some reviewers note it's not traditional Texas BBQ, the food quality and service earn high marks. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff add to the dining experience. Drinks are good, with special mentions for the Big Daddy cocktail and house cabernet. Despite some small portion sizes, the overall affordability and mouthwatering dishes make Hickory a must-try spot. Military personnel receive special treatment, reflecting the restaurant's commitment to supporting armed forces.
Very good, but not great. While prices were surprisingly affordable for west Plano/Frisco, portion sizes were a little small. (Specifically the appetizers. But the quality of the food and the friendly service both earn a thumbs up.
I had a great experience at DFW thanks to my server Tiffany! She was amazing - friendly, attentive, and recommended three delicious items from the menu: Brisket, Jalapeno Grits, and the Burnt Ends Chili. The food and service really turned my bad travel day into a good one! If you're passing through DFW, don't miss stopping here.
This restaurant has a sophisticated and trendy atmosphere without being pretentious. We tried the 3 meat platter, a medium rare hickory burger, and brisket Mac and cheese, all of which were delicious. The happy hour specials are great, and the house cabernet is fantastic - I'll definitely be searching for it to enjoy at home. They also serve excellent martinis and the service was very friendly. It's a great discovery, although they are closed on Sundays. I can't wait to come back.
I decided to visit this restaurant based on a recommendation from a friend, and I am so glad I did. The place is truly incredible. As soon as you arrive in the parking lot, you are greeted by the enticing aroma of smoke. It's not overwhelming, but it gives you a preview of the delicious dishes awaiting inside. We tried a variety of items from the menu, including smoked brisket, sausage, turkey, sliders, tacos, beans with bacon, and buttermilk pie for dessert. Every dish was exceptional - the flavors were outstanding, and the blend of traditional barbeque with new twists made for a fantastic dining experience. The service was also top-notch. If you find yourself near the North Dallas Tollway and Sam Rayburn, I highly recommend making a visit to Hickory.
Had dinner here recently with friends. Never knew BBQ could be gourmet! Awesome menu with creative and tasty apps, entrees and sides. Drinks were well made. Only criticism is the wait staff was too 'hovering ', but better than the alternative of poor service! Try it, you 'll like it!
