I truly regret spending $10 here. I expected a grilled mac and cheese, but instead, I received a small scoop of macaroni and cheese sloppily placed on plain, untoasted white bread. It was disappointing.
I just picked up two turkey avocado BLT sandwiches from the drive-thru, and now I’m eating one at home—what a letdown. The tomatoes were far from ripe, pale orange in color, and one slice even had part of the stem still attached. The turkey wasn’t sliced properly; instead, there were large chunks that barely covered half the bread and could have been a choking hazard—I’m glad I noticed. While I don’t mind mesclun or mixed greens instead of leaf lettuce on a BLT, this mix was limp and browning around the edges. The sourdough bread was completely soaked through except for the crust, even though my drive home only took 15 minutes. The bacon was limp and floppy. The only part that was decent was the avocado, and even then, there was just a tiny slice. I ended up removing everything, chopping up what was salvageable, and eating it like a salad. About a third of the sandwich went straight into the trash, and I’m still hungry.
Panera Bread is a bit pricey—muffins cost around $3—but the staff is incredibly friendly, and the food tastes great. Plus, their membership program is excellent: for just $9.00 a month, you get two cups of coffee daily, any size and flavor.
If you're looking for bland and unseasoned dishes, this is the spot for you. The prices are comparable to a Starbucks, so you'll be paying a premium for that experience. Enjoy your visit!
