Great little store. Clerks are very attentive. They were all putting out books while I was shopping but they asked if I needed help and made a few recommendations. There seemed to be help everywhere which is nice to see. I felt the approach was friendlybut not pushy/stalking. They do a great job of letting you shop while still being present if you need them. Make sure to lookup, even the ceiling is fun. View all feedback.
So impressed by this place! We met Leo and spent time telling us about Jeff the bookstore. Thank you. Leo, worth a 3.5 hour drive!!!
Very friendly and helpful staff. Plus Jeff is a great host. Both him and fellow author Dav Pilkey atee very down to earth.
I visit the UAW 422 Excutive Board meeting on the street quarterly. It will stop and do so after every meeting in the future. Rustic New England in his finest. Good food and I recommend
A beautiful place full of wonderful books and gifts. The atmosphere is breathtaking! A place for the whole family. We love it!
An Unlikely Story is indeed, an unlikely story. Its advent has entirely somehow magically transformed an ancient section of downtown Plainville, Massachusetts into a vibrant, thriving jewel of a destination. In fact, it has greatly enhanced and revitalized the area surrounding the great bookstore/cafe and has positively assisted many businesses in the area. And who knew? Kids still read! Once, while picking up a book I had ordered, an author of a children 's book was in the process of performing a public signing. Peg and I could hardly move, but the entire scene put a wide grin on our faces. Kudos to Jeff Kinney and his staff for restoring downtown Plainville to a wonderful place to visit.
