Service is rarely an issue for us at CB. And, to be fair, it wasn 't a situation in which we had to raise a fuss or call a manager, it 's those little nagging details that turn a great experience into a meh experience. We had to wait on silverware not once but twice. My steak was not prepared correctly and had to be sent back. The server spilled ice water on my hand and leg refilling my glass. The restaurant has reduced portion sizes significantly, with only two knödel and a small container of kartoffelbrei. The customer service has also declined, as they did not answer the phone when I called to place a pickup order. After waiting for a long time and receiving the wrong dinner, I realized that many familiar staff members were no longer there. It may be time for me to find a new favorite spot.
The food was tasty, but I had ordered for curbside pickup and followed all the instructions on the sign and in the text message I received. After waiting for five minutes, I tried calling Cracker Barrel but there was no answer. After 10 minutes, I decided to go inside. When I arrived, there were three employees at the register who seemed unaware of my order. I informed them that I was there for a pickup, but they just stared blankly at me before asking for my name and giving me my food without any explanation or apology for the inconvenience. I understand that the restaurant may be busy, but if they are unable to fulfill curbside pickups efficiently, then they should not offer the service. This was the third time this had happened to me, and it seems to be a recurring issue. I had initially thought it was just a busy day during my previous visits, but the third time is not a coincidence. Cracker Barrel should strive to do better in the future.
Awful! This restaurant was such a letdown. The concept seemed promising, but the food was terrible and served cold. The dishes were unappetizing and lacked flavor. The service was subpar, with the manager showing little interest in resolving any issues. Save your money and opt for a hostess cupcake from the gas station instead.
My wife and I typically enjoy dining at Cracker Barrel, but unfortunately our experience earlier today was not up to par. Although the server was pleasant and polite, it took over 40 minutes for our food to arrive at our table. The eggs were made with the wrong cheese initially, but the mistake was promptly corrected. However, my wife never received her hash brown casserole, which was also rectified by the server. Upon taking a bite, my wife discovered a blonde hair in the casserole. Despite our reluctance to cause a fuss, when I went to pay, the cashier, Karen, asked about our experience. After I made some brief comments, she showed genuine concern and inquired further about what had gone wrong. Karen then offered to get a manager involved, leading to GM Ronny addressing the issue and ultimately comping our entire bill. While we appreciate the gesture, we prefer not to receive freebies, but we understand that the restaurant values feedback and strives to improve. We hope that our next visit will be more satisfactory. The 4-star rating is solely based on the server's friendliness, Karen's genuine interest in our experience, and Ronny's handling of the situation, rather than the food mishaps.
