The service is described as excellent, with professional and friendly staff despite busy days like Valentine's Day. The food, especially salads and soups, is delicious, though some dishes like the seafood platter received mixed reviews. Customers praise individual servers like Octavia for being attentive. Mitchell's is noted for accommodating large groups, offering a variety of seating options. Overall, it's a neighborhood gem with a diverse menu and great service, making it a top choice for dining out.
Our group of four went to the restaurant and unfortunately encountered a few disappointments. We tried to order oysters and tuna as starters, but they were both out of stock. The calamari that we ordered was a bit chewy and the accompanying sauce was not to our liking. The mixed trio dish had a soggy crab cake, bland salmon, and overcooked shrimp. However, the mashed potatoes were the highlight of the meal. One person ordered the grilled fish, which was decent, while another enjoyed the stuffed lobster. Overall, we found the restaurant to be average and felt that it was overpriced for what we received. There are better dining options available for the same price range.
We ordered an appetizer, a salad, and two entrees at the restaurant. The appetizer and salad arrived promptly and were delicious. However, we had to wait a long time for our entrees. After flagging down a different server, we learned that others who arrived after us had already received their food. The server notified the manager, but it still took a while for our food to finally arrive. The manager apologized and explained that the check had been lost. She did offer a discount on the bill, but as this was our annual anniversary dinner, we were disappointed with the overall experience. Additionally, we found the prices to be quite high. We are unsure if we will return to this restaurant in the future.
The food was fabulous as usual and our server Jake was so wonderful. He went above and beyond to make our dinner a wonderful experience.
The host refused to seat us at a booth, even though we arrived early and there were plenty of booths available. She seemed to have an attitude towards us. Being seated at a small table when there were ample booths was very uncomfortable for me and my party.
We are lucky to have Mitchell's in our neighborhood when we want to go out for dinner, without having to drive after a bottle of wine. The service is excellent, the food is great and though it can be a little noisy, last night we were in a booth in a very quiet section of the restaurant. (That is not to say that it is equally enjoyable to sit at the bar during their fantastic Happy Hour specials. I am allergic to shell fish and the manager always checks in to tell me what I can order. My favorite is their plank salmon which is wonderful. My husband likes their chilean sea bass and the blackened cod and always starts with their clam chowder.
