My favourite breakfast haunt in Pittsburgh. Grab a large pot of Steel Cut Oats (with berries and nuts) plus your choice of coffee. Then settle back to people-watch as the city wakes up. Staff are superb. View all feedback.
What Emily Sjoberg doesn't like about Bluebird Kitchen:
I always like to give people the benefit of the doubt, so perhaps today was just an off day for them and I got unlucky. Unfortunately, they were out of more than half of the items on their breakfast menu. I decided to try the Frittata Sandwich, but what I received didn’t quite match what was described on the menu—I got lettuce instead of potato. The service was acceptable, but it was slower than I expected for a kitc... View all feedback.
Very yummy coffee. Wish I would have tried some of the baked goods they looked delightful. I stuck with a classic egg sandwich which was pretty good. The coffee beans were very high quality. The workers were extremely friendly. Such warm vibes!!!:
Stopped for a coffee in the morning and came back for lunch. First time here and will definitely be back! Best sandwich I’ve had in a while. The two workers up front are super nice and friendly. Keep up the good work
I’ve had my eye on this place for a while and heard great things. I ordered a plain bagel with cream cheese and a strawberry chocolate muffin. My total was about $7.75. My muffin was amazing and the bagel had a nice flavor but the consistency was definitely more of a pretzel than anything. The quality or portions could align a bit better for the price. The customer service was great as well. Kate took really good care of me and answered all my questions. I arrived between lunch and breakfast, approximately at 10:30am so the menu was a bit limited. There were tasty looking premade salads, soups, parfait bowls and pastries available. Not to mention organic cold pressed juices. I’d definitely come back for that muffin and to try some other items. This is more of a grab and go rather than sit down and enjoy kind of dining experience.
Today I found a caterpillar(? in the BOTTOM of my salad after I was 2/3s the way through. They refunded my money, but nothing can undo the damage of finding that in your salad. The attendant noted that “sometimes that happens with organic greens” which made it sound like this may not have been the first time. I always loved Bluebird before, but I can’t do it again after that. I feel physically sick from it still.
I can’t say enough good things about bluebird kitchen. I love eating here for the creative, heathy food options. I don’t get that sluggish lunch feeling when I have a meal from Bluebird, I feel good after eating here. This place definitely helps me get all of my fruits and veggies in for the day and the food always so fresh and delicious. Great price for real food.
