Beautiful setting. We visited the shop and chappel. Gorgeous. Wish there was a docent or tours conducted of the grounds and facility. Very nice local gem. Ended up purchasing way too much Monks bread, but my family will enjoy it! Very friendly staff. View all feedback.
What Sharon Henry doesn't like about Abbey Of The Genesee:
I had hoped to witness the Monks making bread or take a tour of the entire facility, but I only got to see the gift shop, classroom, and hear prayers in Latin. The scenic drive along the country road from Rochester to the Abbey was the highlight of my visit. View all feedback.
It is a nice trip to this quiet abtei of the genessee. it is in this blaspheme that the order of the cistercian monks, trap slopes, make and sell their well-known mönchsbrot. her relatiw new little business also has some items from other monasteries. this place of loneliness is located in the land with beautiful plots and various species of animal world to observe. the church is in the rule open to the public and offers mass. the abtei also offers several places for peaceful retreats. my friends and I always enjoy our visits here. we usually come back a few times in the course of the year. in this opposite there is much to do and see.
Today was a nice winter day for a trip to the abbey to get 8 brot varieties, 6 cranberry, 1 white, 1 white and a box butter nut munch. so nice of min to give us both a Christmas bonus. because we are not big buyers or masters, I was very touched by the giving of an additional box sweetness in the sense of the season. happy christmas to all in the abbey of the genesee.

Wish I could go to the Abbey more often! Highly recommend it!
A variety of delicious bread, delivered fast and fresh even during this terrible crisis. And complimentary biscotti too. Thank you!
