Disorganized. Poorly skilled to manage the number of tables they have. Not all guests in our party got a plate on the table. We waited 1 h to see the appetizers. As we received the appetizers, the first course arrived. One of us received the first course when everybody else finished all courses. There was no apologies for the poor service. The quality of food was modest
We stumbled across this small restaurant during a tour in Pienza. It was a charming spot with a small outdoor area. It was full of people while much of the town was closed off. We enjoyed some fresh pici/pasta and wine a delicious lunch that was a perfect on a cold day!
We visited the place on August 12 2022 with our family at friends-7 people. I have to anticipate that I’m not a tourist since we live in Siena and I know very well the area . We had no reservation so the waitress ask us to wait 10 minutes outside, that was ok but actually we waited 30 minutes to have a table. If we knew prObably we have taken other decision. We ordered cheese and salumi platters to share but when we got them we realized they were so small so we have had the need to order more. They were ok but honestly just supermarket level products. Then we got pici with zucchini. Cheese and mint. Really nothing special or tastefully. Also the pork chop was just mean, dry. At the end we had per person only the shared cheese and salumi platter and one course. We had only water and for 7 people we payed the unbelievable price of 220 Euros! I don’t want to call it a scam but we are very close. So please avoid the place, there are so many good options around and is very sad that some restaurants owners compromise your day.
We tried to get coffee for the three of us. We ended up being rudely asked to leave or the have a full lunch. Lots of better alternatives in Pienza!
Granted we are tourists who speak broken Italian- but we had a very ordinary experience for lunch today. We found service was very poor -we asked twice for sparkling water (in English and Italian) and got a nod of acknowledgment but no sparkling water was delivered. Food was edible but not very flavoursome and overpriced. Despite being directed by the chef to bring us condiments, they never arrived so we also had to ask our waitress fir them What seems like a lovely town heavily geared for tourists, this pranzo was marred by our experience.
