Fair price for good quality food as well s... read more Food is amazing and service was wonderful. I hadn't been to this location in over a decade and still an amazing spot. Fair price for good quality food as well steak and lobster for like $70 with very generous portions and a nice selection of non steak items if you like. The only thing I would reccomend is music a touch lower and had I asked (which I'd never) I guarantee they waitress would have lowered it bc she was very kind. Bottom line I highly recommend dining here.

The menu contains many items found at th... read more This was my first time at Steak and Stein, but I have dined at the other Clearman's restaurants frequently in the past. The menu contains many items found at the North Woods Inns and many that are not. The scallops were as good as the sister restaurants as was the baked potato and the cheese bread and the salads. There were many more steak choices and dessert offerings. The staff was friendly and helpful. With peanuts no shells on the floor a cocktail, an appetizer, salads, cheese bread, a combination steak and scallop dinner and Bananas Foster, my date and I found much food to bring home for another night

All meat is braided before serving and baked potatoes are prepared for your pleasure. I love this place, though I'm a vegetarian. There are more than enough food and choices. I?m guessing the item... read more This place is a Los Angeles institution! The old style decor brings such a sense of old charm in a city that?s filled with changing menus. I?m guessing the items on these menus have been here for decades! The food portions are huge!!! They serve prime rib only on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Luckily we ate there on a Sunday! I started off with a half liter of house red wine. (You get your choice of a glass, half liter, or full liter. The meals include salad with your choice of dressing (blue cheese, ranch or French , the infamous cheese toast, red cabbage, and baked potato with all the toppings (butter, sour cream, melted cheese and chives . My prime rib came with creamed spinach, and some condiments of creamy horse radish and Au jus. My partner ordered the steak and shrimp combo, where you could order the shrimp grilled or fried. We celebrated my birthday so our server came out with a big glass of ice cream with a candle on top, and the dessert was on the house! Whenever I think of a special dinner, this place is always top of my list!

The signature house steak which was recommended by the waitress, was ground beef.. It wasn 't a real steak it was a burger patty made with ground beef... Wait but that is not the worst part of all, they served me raw ground beef... I asked for medium rare thinking it was a juicy steak and I got a raw burger patty with raw meat, which should never ever ever ever be served and yes I did get stomach sick to no ones surprise. Yes the steak was bland, no seasoning not even pepper, bad, and I was 100% cheated and scammed by this steak house. I only ate 1/4 of the burger patty because it tasted like old meat and cheap ground beef, I do not recommend If you like to have good steak this is not the place, try another steak house. This will disappoint you and charge you more than you would like for the quality of the steak. The setting was great, dim lights, service was okay. One of the only things if not the best thing was the ambient music, it was noticble but not over powering where you need to talk loud to hear the person across from you. I had reservations, but still had to wait another further 10 minutes to be seated although the places was pretty empty. It is understandable.

I grew up on Clearman 's cheese bread, but while 39 years is far too long a journey to finally land S S 's signature Filet Mignon on my plate, it was worth every bit of the wait. I don 't really need to say much more, given the photos. Our waiter, Sam, left nothing to be desired, and the bartender was also quite generous in preparing my Jack Coke. Steak Stein is now on my every time I fly back home list.

My wife chose the Sirloin steak cooked medium along with shrimp; however, her steak ended up being more medium rare in the center. We were served fresh garlic bread and two salads as appetizers. Our main dishes came with enormous baked potatoes and onion rings—huge portions all around! Our meal, which included two sodas, totaled about $115 before tip. We will definitely be returning!

The steak is of high quality and cooked exactly to your liking. The baked potato is huge and comes fully loaded with all the fixings. The garlic bread keeps coming out fresh. The servers are very attentive.

I continue to dine here with my husband and son for special occasions or at least every three weeks just because we just love it here. We are never disappointed. The filet mignon, lobster, and king crab legs are just some of my favorites.
