Nordic Foods - Pickering

I love visiting Nordic Foods all the way from Toronto! My Finnish background makes me appreciate all my favorites like pulla, siinappi, makkara, chocolate mint bonbons, Finnish ground coffee, and lingonberry jam. I satisfy my Finnish cravings there, along with enjoying conversations with the owner and his Finnish accent. I even try to speak a little Finnish, and he is always kind enough not to laugh at my attempts. I absolutely love this place! Five stars from me!

I first visited this underrated Finnish/Scandinavian deli for the roggenbrot, but was pleasantly surprised to discover that they also offer delicious pastries! I only found out as I was leaving that they were selling frozen cinnamon rolls, but I ended up getting some Finnish donuts instead. They were so flavorful and aromatic! This is a great spot to enjoy some rare Finnish baked goods. Highly recommend mimi’s cake tour.

I absolutely love trying new foods, and this restaurant was recommended to me by a friend from Finland. They serve 100% rye bread here, with beautiful loaves. In addition to that, they also offer specialty jams, sweets, and meats. The owner was very knowledgeable and helpful in explaining the different dishes to me. The location is great, close to the train station and not far from the waterfront, making it convenient for last-minute snacks or meals. The menu is perfect for a quick bite before heading home or for enjoying by the water. I am happy that I don't have to travel to Toronto or search for similar options. The restaurant is very clean and well-maintained.
