We haven't been here in years. It was always a great place to take the kids but we got out of the habit of going. We went on a whim and it was such a treat. The service was Fantastic, food was delicious and the potions were huge. Such a great midweek meal.
To the owner(s) of Massey's: If you look at 'The Port' (located down the street from you) reviews, you'll see that the manager responds to all reviews, good and bad. I notice that you don't respond to your reviews. Don't you know or care about them? Ignore them at your peril. And across the street from you is 'Big M', the number one ranked restaurant in Pickering. It's not a fancy place, and they don't have a huge selection, but what they do have is excellent. For example, their steak sandwiches. Better and more reasonably priced than yours. And their service is better as well. Good luck!
I ordered the soup of the day and fish and chips. The soup was watered down with a few vegetables and tasteless. The fish was rolled process fish in a thick grease filled batter and the fries were limp and very greasy. I did not finish the meal and there was a layer of grease still on the plate.
I have dined at Massey's numerous times over the past 25 years, and I have always found it to be a pleasant, family-friendly neighborhood restaurant.
