Jasper’s is the place for fish and chips! everyone is always so friendly. a lot of tartaric acid sauce! the best fishbatter, not greasy, and tasty fries. also good koleslaw, not too vinegary, and the garnels is a good alternative to healed. consistently. I always know what to expect and it is always a good quality. love jasper’s!
Based on assessments decided to try (withdraw) their fish and chips chips were understated and halibut overboiled. also the only condiments were 16 pieces of malt vinegar, no tartaric acid, no lemon? could not come back. mcdonald's filet-o-fish would have better choice.
Due to the lock-off, the inside seat was not available. I was disappointed that they don't have to offer a delivery service and get food at their location. my order was haddock, chips and wobble rings per their big online reviews. the order. well wrapped, but hardly warm to get it home. about 35 small packages of malt vinegar and tarter sauce were included. not sure why regular vinegar does not contain how that is what I prefer, and they delivered much too much for two pieces of fish. my main objection to the meal was chips were all tiny pieces, just a few over two inches long? very hard to eat with the fingers as I prefer. the rings were very crisp and little swaying inside. I guess this type of takeout is difficult. have a delivery service could keep it hot? we are looking forward to a warm eating in the inner to see the difference.
Tonight, I decided to order from Jasper's for the first time, despite having lived right across the street for quite some time. As someone of British heritage who grew up in Newfoundland, I’ve had my fair share of fish and chips. I truly regret not trying Jasper's sooner. The portions were generous, and the fish and chips were outstanding. While the batter was a bit thicker than I typically like, my overall experience was excellent. If you're really hungry and enjoy large servings, I highly recommend the two-piece halibut and chips.
