Authentic place south Thai restaurant. The food is exceptionally good. We waited for the first record for almost an hour. (It was during the New Year's holidays. My Fav Court: Jumbo Shrimps in Tamarind sauce View all feedback.

Oh, wow! The food was great the service was excellent. We have tried most of the dishes that we could not get in Europe (Netherlands) like the stinking beans and the spicy minced meat/chicken dish. All dishes tasted unique and even hard it is spicy preserved It is a burst of taste that complements wel together. The waiter warned us to get the chopped dish at a low spice level, as he does not eat it on his original spice level. We refused and regretted this, but we have blessed even more.
The food are amazing here. Especially the prawn with tamarind sauce. Their version is amazing, they added cashews and fried onion that just elevate this already popular dish. This is not a fancy restaurant, but it’s clean. Service are fast and friendly. It’s very popular with local customers. Price is also very reasonable.
We went to Nam YOI after we checked it from Mark Wiens. Let me tell you that it is not disappointed. It seems to be a very popular place for locals at noon. We had Kua Gling Moo, Gaeng tai bpla, and bpla Mon (local fish with chili paste). These were all southern Thai dishes and some local favorites. Everything was totally amazing and especially the Gaeng tai bpla. This is a special dish that is very sharp and tasty. Most Westerners will not try it because there are some peculiar ingredients, but I highly recommend going outside your comfort zone and trying real local foods. We even brought some paste for the Gaeng tai bpla home to give my Fiance mother.
Fiery Southern Thai food, long queue and waiting time on the weekend. The part is a little small.
