Sushi Sonora - Phoenix
Sushi Sonora
Description
This restaurant attempts to blend sushi with Mexican cuisine, but feedback reveals a disjointed experience. While some patrons rave about standout dishes like the volcano offering, others lament the high prices and inconsistent quality, such as dry boneless wings and bland carne asada. Many found the sushi lacking authenticity, essentially equating it to burritos wrapped in rice. The atmosphere has drawn criticism for its unpleasant smell, adding to the overall dissatisfaction. Despite some positive experiences, it's evident that this establishment struggles to meet the expectations of its diverse menu. Careful consideration is advised before dining here.

The carne asada tasted like it was in the fridge for a long time. Didn't taste right and $15 for a plate of fried rice is insane. The prices are outrageous for food that has next to no flavor. I, unfortunately, will not be coming here again. It's too expensive for the quality of the food we were givenFood: 2/5
I've had good and bad experiences. Mostly because the food is never consistent. Their spicy mayo (chipotle sauce is delicious on everything!!!!Food: 4/5
This small restaurant has fantastic food. My family always orders takeout from here because it's always busy. We highly recommend the volcano dish. They accept cash, card, and Apple Pay as payment methods. Overall, the food gets a perfect 5 out of 5 rating.
The prices are pretty reasonable, I haven't tried enough food to comment. It's got a bar, but it's not loud.Food: 5/5
When you hear the name sushi in the name of a restaurant, you don't normally associate it with a Mexican restaurant. I definitely will not say the food is bad, but it was average. Sushi rolls are just like eating a burrito or taco but wrapped in rice instead of a corn or flower shell. The menu had burger and chicken options as well.
