We crawled into the Churchill complex to escape the summer sun and 102 temp to get a cold drink and saw the taco place and couldn't resist. 3 tacos for $12 deal jumped out at us, daughter demolished her meat ones and I enjoyed the fish and prawn, with the prawn being my favourite. Salsa and sauces don't have much bite but we like spice n heat so maybe it was just our personal preference. I grabbed drinks at the bar o... View all feedback.
What Evan D doesn't like about Provecho:
It's a shame that in such a trendy spot in Phoenix that there is no good Mexican food representation. Provecho is ok. I think Chelo, Centrico, and definitely Taco Boys are all better options within a mile of Provecho. Ghost donkey down the street has better ceviche (but no tacos . And the taco truck at cobra is probably better too. There is also a filibertos on central which honestly is also probably yummier. If you'... View all feedback.
So I've always been very critical about tacos and any mexican food out here in Phoenix. Since I grew up in Mexicali, Mexico, I always have a higher standard on what passes as good quality mexican food for me. Well this place gets a pass ?. We tried 3 of the tacos, chicken, carnitas and asada I was not expecting much but the carnitas was something completely amazing there was a smokeyness to it out of this world. Also we order asada fries it was not at like the asada fries from California or Mexico but it it's on way completely unique it had both shredded cheese and Queso Blanco. The flavor is here!!! I definitely recommend.
Best shrimp taco ive ever had as a pescatarian!! somewhat pricy but makes sense bc of location and taste. ended up buying 2, def coming backkkVegetarian options: had veggie tacos for vegetarians and shrimp for pescatarian.
Cute little place loved the menu! It was a warm day so we had the shrimp ceviche and it was amazing! First time i ever had saltines with ceviche and its quite the unique taste, I'd heard about it but had never tried it, so that was pretty cool. I found the ceviche very balanced which can be hard to do as you're using alot of citrus. Can't wait to try more things.
Highly recommend this spot for my fellow vegetarians! We stopped by on a hot afternoon, and shared the esquite, veggie tacos, and guac. Star of the show were the veggie tacos, which had a lovely variety of peppers, mushroom, and maybe nopales. Salsas were fresh and flavorful, and the service was fast and friendly

I grabbed drinks at the bar opposite and found a great strawberry/pepper/basil non alcoholic shrub cocktail which was delicious and accompanied the tacos perfectly, along with a pineapple cider. We loved the Churchill, and the shops and market outside, and will be back to Provecho for more tacos in future.
