What Aaron Marks dislikes about Progress:
I know this will mostly fall on deaf ears but this place was so much better as the Montecito Bottle Shop instead of serving as the Restaurant Progress wine storage. Prices have gone up drastically (many were under $30) and selection has changed to cater to upscale clientele of the restaurant. It was fun to take a chance on a bottle that you’ve never heard of, but not now that they are mostly all in the $45-$150 range... View all feedback.

Ordered the cooking surprise. with everything we had with drinks, the price and food was amazing. Tuna so succulent that you would melt in your mouth. old-fashioned was not too bad.
I'd like to start by saying that everyone we were in contact with on this night was so kind warm. We made a reservation for a patio table in August but the temp was just right with the fan on. Our server was knowledgeable on drinks the food. The food came out in a timely manner I loved that every component was seasoned or had it's own flavor to contribute. Pictures of what we had are posted. The only gripe we had was a minimal desert menu (2 options I think? . We would def go back we would def recommend to friends
I had an incredible experience at this restaurant—possibly the best meal I've had in five years in Phoenix. Although they no longer offer a tasting menu, you can create your own from their thoughtfully curated options. Every dish we tried was flavorful and beautifully presented. The cocktails were excellent, and the charming brick patio adorned with climbing jasmine reminded me of New York. This place is a must-visit!
This was absolutely the best dining experience we have had in Phoenix. We went for my wife’s birthday. We accidentally showed up an hour earlier than our reservation and they went out of their way to accommodate us. Our server, Stephanie made our dinner very special. The food was excellent!! We let the kitchen decide our choices and they did not disappoint. We will be back!
One of my favorite restaurants in the state. Been here many times and the food always amazes me. Chefs there truly know how to make certain flavors you wouldn’t think of shine together in one amazing dish. I personally love sitting at a bar at any restaurant as I prefer easy access to amazing drinks and one on one time with the bartenders. You won’t regret the service you receive if you do the same. The patio area is also a gem and fun if you have a decent group of people as well. Try this place at least once, you won’t regret it.
Nestled in Phoenix, this restaurant offers an exceptional dining experience with a cozy yet chic atmosphere and attentive service that feels warm and personal. The open kitchen showcases a talented culinary team crafting fresh, flavorful dishes—from inventive small plates to expertly curated tasting menus—highlighted by standout items like fried green tomatoes, squid ink linguini, and crudo. The vibrant cocktail program complements the menu perfectly. Though the space is intimate and parking can be tricky, advanced reservations are highly recommended. Affordable yet high-end, this gem promises memorable meals that keep diners returning and earning rave praise from locals and visitors alike.

This past weekend my girlfriend and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary, and made reservations at Restaurant Progress. We are so happy that we did the experience was amazing. As we walked in we were quickly greeted by Anthony, who also was our server for the evening. He was very personable and knowledgeable about the menu. He was able to answer all of our questions that we had about the menu, we had a lot, and guide us through our dinner. We started the dinner off with some cocktails. My girlfriend order the Mockingbird which is their non alcoholic option and I ordered the Espresso martini. Both were fantastic and delicious. For food, we ordered the Heirloom Tomatoes, Pacific Tuna Crudo, Mussels, Sourdough bread, Branzino, and finished with dessert. Everything was delicious and obviously made with passion. This place is definitely on our list to visit again when we are back in the Phoenix area.
Don’t do very many reviews but this place wow! We went for our engagement dinner! Service was exceptional from Aaron so passionate about the food and wine! The food was amazing especially the burrata wow! This place should be full. Thanks again to all the team!!Food: 5/5
My boyfriend and I visited Phoenix to celebrate our two-year anniversary and made a reservation at Restaurant Progress for dinner before heading to a concert. I'm so glad we did! This restaurant exceeds expectations with its outstanding service, exquisite food, and delightful drinks. Our server, Anthony, was incredibly friendly and attentive. He had an impressive knowledge of the entire menu and helped us choose an amazing meal. I ordered a non-alcoholic drink while my boyfriend opted for a cocktail, and it was fascinating to watch them craft the drinks. Both were absolutely delicious. The food was simply unforgettable, perfectly prepared in every way. It's clear that everyone here takes pride in their work, and it truly shows. I will definitely return the next time I’m in town and will highly recommend it to everyone I know. Thank you once again for the incredible experience!
This place is absolutely fantastic! It's cozy and welcoming, with attentive staff and mouthwatering food. Be sure to make a reservation since the space is small. Parking is limited in front, but you can find spots on the nearby residential street. I tried several small plates, and they were all heavenly—steak tartare, fried green tomatoes, pea pasta, and branzino were simply amazing! The chefs were busy in the back preparing all this goodness. The atmosphere is laid-back, creating a perfect mood for enjoying your meal. I highly recommend visiting this little gem of deliciousness!
Stopped by on a whim on a quick stopover in PHX and scored bar seats. The bartender was friendly, accommodating, and matched our style of preferred interaction quite well. We noticed he did that with others, too. Excellent cocktails and several inventive dishes. The curried carrots, in particular were an adventure for the palate.

Restaurant Progress delivers an exceptional dining and drinking experience with remarkable value. The “Stay With Me” cocktail blends white rum, Calvados, cherry spice, lime, and soda into a perfectly balanced refreshment. The wine selection shines with a bright 2018 Gamay from Loire and a crisp 2016 Melon De Bourgogne from Muscadet. The staff is very nice, attentive, and welcoming, and the great price makes the experience even more enjoyable.
I know this will mostly fall on deaf ears but this place was so much better as the Montecito Bottle Shop instead of serving as the Restaurant Progress wine storage. Prices have gone up drastically (many were under $30) and selection has changed to cater to upscale clientele of the restaurant. It was fun to take a chance on a bottle that you’ve never heard of, but not now that they are mostly all in the $45-$150 range. It’s a shame that this place has morphed from a chic, neighborhood natural wine shop to an overpriced wine cellar for a restaurant next store.
