Was Steph Dee at El Fenix Bakery a mag?
The bread here is baked fresh daily, and it is delicious. Next time I go I will update with a review of the fresh hot dishes. This time I got bolios and pan dulce. It was sweet but not rich, just the way it should be. Highly recommend, one of the best places to get chonchas, galletas, elotitos, empanadas de pina y calabacita, and more. View all feedback.

What Corrine dislikes about El Fenix Bakery:
There should be a law against selling 6 week old tortillas as fresh . Even my pink cookies tasted like they had been sitting there for several weeks.I have gone there for years but not any longer, too many other places to choose from View all feedback.

I've been visiting this place for many years, and before the pandemic, everything was fantastic. However, something changed during the pandemic regarding the pan dulce, and unfortunately, it hasn't improved. The conchas are no longer soft and fluffy, which makes me sad. It seems like they may have lost their baker. I'm fearful that I won't be making the drive to south Phoenix anymore. I really hope they can restore what once made them so great.

There are many options for sweet bread, and I will definitely be coming back! Their empanadas are fantastic!

This place has the best menudo and buritos, plus a bakery with authentic Mexican goods. It's a small spot, so let's show it some love and respect the people when you support local businesses!
