What АМЕРИКА ТОК dislikes about Cafe Chenar:
The portion sizes are extremely tiny. There is no way a regular restaurant can compete with this. She always left the restaurant feeling full and satisfied. I left feeling hungry. The waiter didn't even offer to refill our water, but still took an 18% tip for himself. I will not be returning. View all feedback.

After reading some reviews of this restaurant, I had mixed feelings. I am not sure who writes and complains about the food and service. The place is very clean, the staff are friendly, and the food is delicious. It is not a five-star sit down restaurant, but rather a cozy cafe for a satisfying meal. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning! Thank you for a delicious dinner!

I ordered the Manti. It was delicious. I want to come back and try more dishes. I was the only customer in the restaurant at 6:30 pm but it was a Monday. Give ot a try..

Finally made it to Cafe Chanar in the neighborhood. It is a Kosher Bukarian (Uzbek) restaurant. Have looked over the menu many times and a few dishes looked familiar. Saw my Yelp Buddy Mitchell was previously here and took his advice on the onion bread. The place was empty in the mid afternoon on Sunday so took my time. The server made some suggestions and was spot on. I ordered the cabbage rolls and a Bojon Salad made of roasted eggplant and garlic served cold with some parsley. The onion bread was exceptional and flakey. Could have made a very happy meal with the Bojon and Onion Bread, but then came the cabbage rolls that were steaming hot. They were made of diced meat and savory rice wrapped in cabbage leaves. Overall, a very satisfying meal with leftovers to go. Yelp has a 10 per cent off coupon on the App. Put this one on your list.

Cafe Chenar is one of the best places for Jewish cuisine in Phoenix. We tried a sampler of five dishes recommended by our server, and each one had amazing aromas that lingered with us throughout the day. If you get the chance, definitely give it a try—you won’t be disappointed.
