Phoenix Jewel! We introduced our friends to Belly last night and it did not disappoint. From the fantastic service to the incredible flavors of the food, Belly is one of our favorite haunts in Phoenix! View all feedback.
Wow! what a great sound. small but great mood. excellent Asian cuisine. shh doesn't tell anyone, it's good. ;
We’ve tried most of the “popular” Asian places in town, and Belly is by far the best restaurant in PHX, not just by the standard of Asian food. The staff is super helpful and everything I’ve ever gotten there has been so consistently good. Availability is hit or miss for walk in, I’ve walked in with a group of 4 and gotten right in, but also gone in with 2 and had to wait a while, get a reservation to be safe!
Always great! Bummed you aren’t open late anymore… I will just have to come in for lunch now I guess!
This was our first time dining at Belly, and we couldn't have had a better experience. The food and drinks were excellent, as was the attentive and courteous staff. We sat outside, on the upstairs patio, enjoying the urban experience that dining in Central Phoenix has to offer. Even though we were outside, there are ample patio heaters to keep everyone warm and comfortable. We will definitely be going back again. It will likely take us several trips to be able to sample everything the menu has to offer! Belly is a shining star in the Melrose Dining District. We're so lucky to have it in our neighborhood! Note, if the restaurant parking lot is full, you can park in the Park-N-Ride lot next door on Camelback, and walk in. Super easy!
We ordered several dishes since this was our first experience dining here They ranged from good to outstanding the soft shell crab bao buns, Pho Ga and sweet potato donuts were good while the crispy spring rolls and PEI Mussels (which are the best being flavorful, small and tender) in lemongrass and coconut broth were outstanding. The ambience has a YOUNG hip vibe with loud music and edgy decor with high rise and bar stool seating, making conversation difficult. Outside dining under heat lights might make this a little calmer for the older clientele Be warned, at this Melrose location, there is no handicap access to the dining room, a story (MANY STEPS) above the entrance which is basically the open kitchen and a single bathroom. Call ahead for parking advice which is severely limited by the building itself. All that said, I would go back to try some more dishes, eat outside and wear step climbing sneakers.
