Cartel Roasting Co - Phoenix

I am always lenient at airports, out of sheer desperation. Cartel’s offered a truly fresh, Fresh Fruit Cup which I desperately needed, a vegan donut with glorious pink frosting (yes, I know ~all an oxymoron) and a beloved cinnamon roll that had way too much cream cheese frosting on it, but was forgiveable because the roll part was very good. I ended up walking a mile to find this place in terminal C, having been given wrong directions by Airport Golf Cart Personnel, but I was still grateful I found it! I did not try the coffee, but I’m sure it has to be decent if the baked goods and fruit cup were a win! These are the very lame remains of the cinnamon roll, with scraped off icing on the side!

Baristas are super knowledgeable. Great pour over. Don't go to a chain. Support this place. This is real coffee. Haven't had better coffee in an airport

Thought it was strange that the staff making the coffee were all texting on their phones between cups. Had I seen that before I ordered my coffee I would have gone somewhere else. So

Wide selection of coffee options, breakfast burritos, and cool swag. Barista recommended espresso because he personally likes the blend, but the pour over also looked great.They also sell hats, stickers, mugs, and bags of coffee beans for later.

Awesome local coffee shop tucked in next to C11. A number of good non coffee options for us tea drinkers. The honey lavender matcha tea is a nice change of pace. Breakfast burritos and the cinnamon croissant roll will help tide you over on a layover.Vegetarian options: Breakfast burrito
