They have moved to Weetangera, Belconnen. Lahori Gate offers authentic Pakistani food. It felt as if we were eating home cooked food. There was nothing commercial about the dishes we savoured, it presented well but it tasted of love and some serious cooking skills. Read full review on our blog, Travel and Beyond.
Although there was only one review on Zomato, Lahori Gate is big on Facebook. In June 2015 I couldn't quickly find a menu online, so I called and asked them to recommend something for kids. They replied that all their food was spicy, so... So I ordered some plain and wholemeal naan, some chapatti, okra for myself, and chicken tikka for whoever wanted it. One of the kids did like it, despite its heat. The okra in tomato sauce was good, just spicy enough. Unfortunately the food was all delivered a little cold, and by the time anyone got to the wholemeal naan, it was quite unpalatable. The guy I spoke to on the phone was very accommodating, and the delivery guy was polite. The delivery was within target (30-35 minutes) and all of us were happy with our dinner.
Amazing eating, authentic, delicious, delicious. nice owner (man woman) and service is impeccable. Try the Gaumen distributor! we will return without doubt!
After traveling all over the world, I can confidently say that this restaurant serves the freshest and most delicious naan bread I have ever tasted. I highly recommend trying it. The menu is excellent and we tried several different dishes, all of which were delicious. The goat dishes were particularly outstanding.
This is truly the most authentic and best restaurant in Canberra. I ordered off menulog tonight. I could taste the beautiful spices.. most pleasurable... better than any other Canberra restaurant. You must try... eating in is a pleasure. Great service by people who love their food and treat you like family. Eating in or take away.. always a pleasure. I have a Malaysian student who agrees... she's walking around very satisfied five star from me.
